What is Sakura Line 311?
On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, and within an hour, a tsunami struck the Tohoku region.
Many people in Rikuzentakata City also felt time stand still.
Afterwards, the news was broadcast, saying, “In fact, there are records and traces of a tsunami of the same scale as this one engulfing the Sanriku coast.”
If only the possibility of a tsunami exceeding 10 meters had been loudly proclaimed before the earthquake! If only people had been made aware of the limitations of the seawalls before the earthquake!
Wouldn’t fewer lives have been lost to the tsunami?
With such regret in their hearts, they are working to connect the points where the tsunami reached with cherry trees and pass on the story to future generations, so that this disappointment will not be repeated in the next generation.
The Trio Group sympathized with such feelings and began supporting them.

Status of efforts
The year after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, an article about Sakura Line 311 was published in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The article clearly stated the purpose of their ctivities:
“Planting cherry trees along the lines that will serve as landmarks for people evacuating.” I was so impressed that I decided I wanted to support them.
At the Trio System Plans Co., Ltd. 35th anniversary ceremony, Mr. Okamoto, the representative of Sakura Line 311, attended and gave a presentation to inform not only employees but also customers about the activities of Sakura Line 311, as well as the importance of daily preparations.
Volunteer for Sakura Line 311 activities
Starting with the presentation of the donation at the Trio System Plans Co., Ltd. 35th anniversary ceremony, we have been holding events such as the general meeting of shareholders and training sessions, as well as events attended by people from other companies, such as charity golf competitions, to let various people know about Sakura Line’s activities, and continue to support various people’s thoughts in the form of donations every year.

Our activities are centered around providing donations and condolence money so that those affected by the disaster can return to their normal lives as quickly as possible.
Status of efforts
We are promoting various donation and support activities, such as donations of relief funds for the 2024 Oku-Noto heavy rain disaster and donations of relief funds and support funds for the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
